From powder to precision – this is Schunk Sinter Metals
As a specialist in powder metallurgy, we develop and manufacture high-precision metal components for the world's most demanding markets. Sintering – the thermal bonding of metal powder below its melting point – is our core process. Over 100 years of materials expertise, three manufacturing processes, and an accredited testing laboratory form the foundation on which we create new solutions for our customers every day. Ready-to-install. Reliable. Made in Europe.
Technology that pushes boundaries
Sintered metal is the superior choice whenever the highest dimensional accuracy, tight tolerances, and economical large-scale production are required. The net-shape principle enables complex geometries in a single process step – without machining, without material loss, with almost 100 percent material utilization. Schunk Sinter Metals masters three complementary manufacturing processes: axial pressing for high volumes, metal injection molding (MIM) for delicate high-precision parts, and additive manufacturing for prototypes and special geometries. Each component is matched to the process that is technically and economically best suited.
Sintered metal & MIM components – at home in every market
From the automotive industry to medical technology, from electric vehicles to defense technology – Our components are used wherever precision, reliability, and cost-effectiveness are required at the same time. We accompany our customers from the first component idea to qualified series delivery – as a development partner, not a contract manufacturer.
Sintered metal & MIM components for powertrain, comfort systems, brakes, and body applications – in million-unit volumes, ready-to-install, IATF 16949 certified.
Valve train components, camshaft phasers, turbocharger parts, and pump components – for the highest thermal and mechanical loads.
Soft magnetic SMC components, sintered bearings for electric motors, actuators, and coolant pumps – for more efficient, more reliable electric vehicles.
Sintered components for seat adjustment, power steering, mirror adjustment, and safety-critical systems such as ABS and electric parking brakes.
ABS armatures, eccentric rings, output gears for parking brakes, and actuators – 100% tested, qualified for safety-critical applications.
MIM engine components, guide vanes, actuators, and structural parts – aerospace-certified, for both conventional and new air mobility concepts.
MIM components for defense applications – manufactured entirely in Europe, for the highest qualification requirements.
Gears, bearings, hydraulic components, actuators, and SMC parts for mechanical engineering, robotics, pumps, and power engineering.

Biocompatible MIM components for surgical instruments, endoscopy, and medical robotics.
Over 100 years of materials expertise – by your side
Schunk Sinter Metals is not a contract manufacturer that simply processes drawings. We are a development partner – from the first idea to qualified series delivery. Our materials know-how, the accredited Friedrich Eisenkolb testing laboratory, and our production sites in Gießen, Thale, and Mexico form the foundation for partnerships that often last for decades.
Global presence. European roots.
As part of the Schunk Group – a global technology group with 10,000 employees in 26 countries and €1.8 billion in revenue – we combine the stability and reach of a global player with the specialized depth of a materials expert. Our production takes place entirely in Europe – without strategic dependencies, for maximum supply security for our customers.
Development partner. Not just a supplier.
We get involved early in your product development – through simultaneous engineering, sinter-friendly design consulting, and application-specific material selection. The result: components optimized for the sintering process from the outset, shorter time-to-market, and a partnership that extends beyond the project horizon.
