Ultrathin setters for ceramic substrates, fuel cells and solid oxide electrolyzer cells
Eco-Light® RB Ultrathin Setters
High-performance kiln furniture made of gas-tight RBSiC for firing ceramic substrates (incl. SOEC, SOFC) up to 1,380 °C
The Eco-Light® RB ultrathin material from Schunk Technical Ceramics has been specifically developed for thin-walled kiln furniture in the form of setters used in demanding high-temperature processes – in particular for the sintering of ceramic substrates (incl. SOEC, SOFC). With a wall thickness of just 3 to 4 mm, this material ensures maximum process reliability while significantly improving energy efficiency, making it ideal for use in automated industrial kilns. Manufactured using a cost-optimized pressure casting process, these carrier plates combine gas-tight material quality for outstanding oxidation resistance with exceptional mechanical strength. The result is a long service life – up to the maximum application temperature of 1,380 °C.
Key Advantages at a Glance:
- Gas-tight for outstanding oxidation resistance
No open porosity and therefore no internal oxidation – up to the maximum application temperature of 1,380 °C. - High bending strength and creep resistance
High bulk density combined with a low content of free silicon – ensuring long-term dimensional stability under load. - Pressure casting technology for cost-efficient series production
Uniform microstructure and thin-wall geometries – ideal for automated high-volume manufacturing.
