Weiss Technik has acquired Ascott Analytical Equipment. The British company has been manufacturing and distributing corrosion testing equipment for more than 30 years. With this purchase, Weiss Technik, the specialist for environmental simulation systems, has strategically expanded its portfolio in the field of corrosion testing: Weiss Technik's tailor-made specialist systems are joined by Ascott's high-quality standard solutions.

Ascott specialises in the production of salt spray chambers and cyclic corrosion test chambers. Test standards for environmental simulation tests also stipulate the testing of components and equipment for corrosion resistance in many industries. For example, the automotive and aircraft industries require equipment to test how their components react to high humidity, salty air, seawater and road salt. Corrosion tests also play an important role in product development and approval in the production of batteries for the electromobility industry.

By acquiring Ascott, Weiss Technik is strengthening and expanding its range of products in the field of corrosion testing: "The standard solutions with their excellent price-performance ratio perfectly complement our customised specialist systems," explains Peter R. Manolopoulos, Managing Director at Weiss Technik.

Growing together

Weiss Technik and Ascott are now the world's third largest supplier of corrosion testing equipment. They fit together very well not only in terms of their technical know-how, but also in terms of sales, says Manolopoulos: "Weiss Technik is primarily represented in Germany and Europe, while Ascott is strong in the UK as well as America and Asia - our areas of strategic growth." Ascott has its headquarters in Tamworth in central England and has around 30 employees. All worldwide offices and jobs will be retained: "We want to work together for a successful future and continue to expand our strong position in corrosion testing," Manolopoulos emphasises.
