Bicycle recreation

The Tour de France is not the only place where people are pedaling at the moment - Schunk is no exception. The past weekend was dedicated to two-wheeled vehicles. On Sunday, the annual Schunk bike tour took place. A total of 63 participants took to the starting line - from long-time Schunk employees to kindergarten children.
Three cycling routes, each lasting around four hours, for racing bikes, mountain bikes and pleasure cyclists were well guided and supervised by tour sponsors Jochen Schappel (SSO), Thomas Klös (WTD) and Wolfgang Emrich (WTD). And apart from a few punctures, everyone came back healthy. This is thanks to the efforts of Hendrik Dampf (SSO), who was on hand with provisions and paramedic expertise and as a driving service along the route. The catering was provided by the kitchen in Heuchelheim and at the grill Benjamin Zimmermann (Health and Family Service) tirelessly supplied the hungry athletes.
The weather was great, with only a few raindrops in between to cool things down. With a barbecue and a relaxed afternoon with a guided tour through the new logistics center at Weiss Technik, the day ended in a sociable and interesting way.
Team Rynkeby to the final in Paris
Kamil Wlotzka, Katrin Hirselandt and Martin Gertler rode a slightly longer lap than the cyclists from Central Hesse: They successfully completed this year's Team Rynkeby Tour and arrived in Paris last weekend. There - one week before the finish of the Tour de France on the Champs Élysées - they had the grand finale of the Tour. All of the approximately 2,400 cyclists and 550 supporters from 64 regional teams in 9 countries came together there for the conclusion of the Europe-wide charity bike tour. Conclusion of Tour newcomer Martin Gertler: "A great experience!"
