"This is awesome." One can see the enthusiasm of Moritz Schepp. Because the 24-year-old tool mechanic at the Heuchelheim location was voted the "starter of the year" by the jury. And that means: Schepp can now use an e-Smart Fourfour for one year free of charge and in an environmentally friendly way. And on top of that, he gets his own parking lot with charging station directly opposite the Schunk Tower at the company headquarters in Heuchelheim.
"In addition to science and development and the art of engineering, the performance of outstanding skilled workers is one of the success factors of Germany as an industrial location. This is particularly true at Schunk, where dual training has always been a high priority," said Gunthard Sommer, Chairman of the Board of the Ludwig Schunk Foundation, at the handover of the electric car to Schepp. The young tool mechanic not only completed his apprenticeship with top marks, but has also been exemplary in his commitment to the company ever since. "We want to pay tribute to this with the award for the first time for the "Starter of the Year"”, Sommer continued.
With the award "Starter of the Year" Schunk honours a young employee who completed his training in the Schunk Group in 2018 and is particularly committed to Schunk and its corporate goals.
And Schepp wants to take off again this year: He will probably start an extra-occupational further training as a technician in autumn. "I am really impressed by what you have already achieved and what you have set yourself for the future - keep up the good work," said Dr. Arno Roth at the handover of the electric car.
