CARBON BRUSHES with copy protection

PRODUCT PIRACY is a massive problem for OEM‘s and creates high financial losses for them. Many producers of mass products (mainly clothes, shoes, toys etc.) developed for that reason a special copy protection on their products and fight successful since years against the product piracy.

SCHUNK had taken over this idea and developed a copy protection especially for carbon brushes. That system has been prepared and tested well. It is now applicable in the serial production. The code system ist easy to place at the brushes, afterwards just a inconspicious laquer (above the cody system) is visible.

The code system may offer our customers another advantage at the warranty- and liability obligations.

Power tools which would be claimed by end-users inside the warranty periode a fast check can be made to define whether the claim has to be accepted or could be reject. It is easy possible to check whether the original carbon brush is still in use or whether the end-user had already changed the original carbon brush with another one. If that could be found out, a claim can be reject easy by reason.

With that good control of warranty- and liability obligations the OEM can reduce costs due to less accepted claims.
