Grand opening of Weiss Technik India Private Limited in India
A festive ceremony marked the launch of Weiss Technik India Private Limited, a company belonging to the German-based Schunk Group, in Hyderabad on Sunday. The inauguration party was attended by around 100 guests, including many employees, managers, Weiss customers and prominent citizens. After the traditional ribbon-cutting and a Puja ceremony, the festivities continued with a musical program and a press conference in the Mariott Hotel.
With the establishment of the sales company on 1 September, the globally active Schunk Group has expanded the presence of its Weiss Group Division on the growing Asian market and thus reinforced its position as global leader in environmental simulation technologies.
The approximately 50 new Schunk employees are old friends and perfectly familiar with Weiss products due to their long years of experience in organizing the sale of environmental simulation systems as independent commercial agents. Furthermore, a total of six external offices in the important regions of Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Calcutta and Chennai ensure a very good coverage nationwide. The Weiss Group Division already has a presence in India since 1978 with over 700 installations including some of the most prestigious testing facilities installed at DRDO, ISRO, TATA Motors, Maruti Suzuki, ARAI, HALs, BELs, TVS, Honda Motorcorp, Pricol, Bosch etc.
Weiss Technik India sells environmental simulation systems, which permit the preliminary testing and continuous improvement of product and material functionality, stability and quality. The wide range of products offered by the company extends from systems on a laboratory scale all the way to large drivable simulation systems, which are particularly in demand by renowned vehicle manufacturers, in the electronic, pharmaceutical, aviation and aerospace industries as well as in the renewable energy sector.
“The foundation of the second Schunk Group enterprise in India demonstrates our increased commitment to growth markets worldwide”, comments Gerhard Federer, Chief Executive Officer of the Schunk Group, on the foundation of the new company in India. And M.A. Gaffar, Managing Director of Weiss Technik India, who has been associated with Weiss for over 30 years, also has a positive outlook on the future of his company: “The first orders have already been placed. We expect to achieve an above-average growth in the coming few years.”
